Mechi Industries Limited has entered into a partnership with Indian technology provider Laxmi En-Fab Private Limited to expand its production capacity and enhance its product range. The agreement was formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed recently, signaling a strategic move to boost manufacturing capabilities in the construction sector.
Under the new arrangement, Mechi Industries plans to increase its Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (AAC) block production by 5,000 cubic meters per month. The company also aims to diversify its portfolio by incorporating modern technology and equipment for producing mortar adhesive, ready-mix plaster, tile adhesive, and wall putty. Procurement agreements with suppliers for these new plants and equipment have already been finalized.
The collaboration reflects a mutual focus on sustainable development and advanced manufacturing technology, with Mechi Industries emphasizing that the partnership is expected to strengthen industrial cooperation between Nepal and India. The company highlighted the potential for this bilateral engagement to elevate construction sector capabilities in both countries.
In addition to expanding its production line, Mechi Industries has pursued improvements in its management systems to align with international standards. The company recently acquired three key ISO certifications: ISO 9001:2015 for Quality Management Systems, ISO 14001:2015 for Environmental Management Systems, and ISO 45001:2018 for Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems.
Chairman Pawan Ghimire underscored the significance of these certifications, stating they demonstrate the company's dedication to quality manufacturing, sound governance, environmental stewardship, and maintaining a safe workplace. Through these efforts, Mechi Industries aims to reinforce its commitment to both product excellence and corporate responsibility.
