RIYADH — At the Security and History Dialogue 2026 conference held in Riyadh on Tuesday, Jameel Altheyabi, editor-in-chief of Okaz and supervisor general of Saudi Gazette, emphasized the critical role of collaboration between the media and security sectors in promoting societal stability. He called for a professional and institutional partnership between the two fields, highlighting the importance of mutual trust, effective communication, and a shared sense of responsibility.

Altheyabi outlined how the rapid growth of media outlets and social media platforms has significantly accelerated the spread of news and information but also increased the prevalence of rumors and misinformation, especially during times of crisis or security incidents. He argued that in this context, a strong and coordinated relationship between media organizations and security agencies is essential to enhance public awareness and reinforce trust in governmental institutions.

The editor-in-chief stressed that such a partnership would not only contribute to safeguarding society but also help maintain stability by ensuring accurate and timely dissemination of information.
