The Collective Solidarity Fund for Members of Medical Professional Associations held its initial meeting of the 28th session for 2026 following the approval of its administrative and financial reports by the ordinary general assembly. During the session, a new board of directors was elected to oversee the fund’s activities.

Ahmad Al-Shatti was chosen as Chairman of the Board, with Waleed Al-Basri appointed as Vice Chairman. Other key positions include Hossam El-Din Abdel-Fattah as Secretary, Jaber Al-Khaldi as Treasurer, and Waleed Al-Harbi as Assistant Treasurer. The board also features members Ayman Khalil, Khaled Saleh, Hassan Khaja, Mohamed Alaa Attia, and Osama Hakim, alongside representatives from various medical professional associations. The composition includes five doctors from the Kuwait Medical Association, two members of the Kuwait Pharmaceutical Association, two dentists, and one veterinarian.

At the meeting, Al-Shatti emphasized the fund’s mission to foster cooperation and solidarity among members of the medical profession. He noted that the fund provides social support to members and their families, particularly in circumstances involving death, professional disability, or retirement across both public and private sectors. Highlighting the fund’s longstanding commitment, he reported that total disbursements have exceeded KD3 million over more than fifty years.

The board, elected biennially, is responsible for establishing policies and assessing recommendations aimed at maintaining a balance between the fund’s financial commitments and the admission of new members. This oversight ensures the fund’s sustainability while continuing to support the welfare of medical professionals in Kuwait.
