SALALAH — Dhofar Municipality, in collaboration with the Projects, Tenders and Local Content Authority, held an introductory meeting focused on the ‘Takamul’ project, a national initiative aimed at improving government project and procurement management.

The meeting, attended by representatives from various government entities within Dhofar Governorate, was part of broader change management efforts to prepare stakeholders for subsequent phases of the project. The Takamul initiative seeks to establish a unified system overseeing the full lifecycle of government projects, from initial planning and tendering to contract execution, project implementation, and final performance evaluation.

Officials emphasized the project’s strategic importance in enhancing transparency, efficiency, and coordination across government departments. By aligning procurement processes under a single framework, Takamul aims to streamline operations and support the principles of local content and sustainable development.

This step aligns with Oman’s ongoing efforts to modernize administrative procedures and strengthen governance in public sector procurement.
