Lines formed outside the NBA Store in Midtown Manhattan on Monday as demand for New York Knicks merchandise surged following the team’s historic NBA championship victory. Fans gathered for more than an hour hoping to purchase gear to celebrate the Knicks’ first title since 1973, after the team defeated the San Antonio Spurs in five games. The championship run was led by Finals MVP guard Jalen Brunson, driving enthusiasm across the New York metro area.

The store, located on Fifth Avenue, saw queues extending around the corner and onto Madison Avenue as thousands of supporters sought jerseys, hats, patches, and other memorabilia. Many reported that popular items, including Finals jerseys and commemorative patches, sold out quickly, with restocks expected later in the week. Brooklyn resident Ron JN Baptiste, who waited in line for 90 minutes, said when he entered the store, “there were no finals jerseys, no patches, they were all sold out.” Store representatives indicated new shipments would arrive by Wednesday or Thursday.

Online options for purchasing Knicks merchandise were limited by lengthy shipping times, often extending into July. Paul Seepaul, of South Ozone Park, Queens, noted that although he had ordered items online, the earliest available delivery date was July 20. He planned to bring his son to the upcoming championship parade and wanted to ensure they had gear to wear during the festivities. The Knicks are scheduled to be honored with a ticker-tape parade down the Canyon of Heroes on Thursday, and Mayor Mamdani suggested the event could become one of the largest in New York City history.

Several fans expressed a preference for buying in person rather than waiting for delayed online deliveries. A Flushing resident identified only as Ed L. said he chose to purchase a $50 Knicks shirt after finding that the earliest online delivery date was July 26. Meanwhile, Will Crespo, a construction contractor from Long Island, reported a successful shopping trip, leaving with three gold “championship chains” he intended to wear at the parade.

The strong demand for championship merchandise highlights the deep enthusiasm surrounding the Knicks’ victory and the community’s eagerness to celebrate this milestone moment in the team’s history.
