A Metropolitan Police officer assigned to a specialist domestic abuse unit has been convicted of multiple sexual offences involving women he met through dating apps. PC Dion Arnold, 33, was found guilty this week at Guildford Crown Court of a series of rapes and sexual assaults committed while he was off duty.

The case came to light in March 2025 when Surrey Police alerted the Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards after a woman reported repeated incidents of rape and assault by Arnold between June 2024 and March 2025. Subsequent searches of his phone revealed a substantial list of contacts with women, prompting investigators to identify three additional victims who said they too had been raped or sexually assaulted by the officer. These women were previously unknown to each other.

Arnold was charged with 17 offences related to four separate women, with alleged incidents spanning from June 2023 to March 2025. After a trial, the jury convicted him on eight counts, including four of rape, two of assault by penetration, and two of sexual assault.

Evidence presented in court showed that Arnold continued his attacks despite the women withdrawing consent. During one incident, he told a victim she was "enjoying it," and in another, instructed a woman to "get used to it." Messages recovered from his phone included admissions that he had failed to stop when consent was withdrawn and acknowledgment that he had "taken things too far."

Arnold remains suspended from duty pending sentencing, scheduled for June 22. The Metropolitan Police has confirmed that he will be dismissed as a result of the convictions. The force has not commented further on the case.
