Agbayani, an infielder, is notably the son of former Mets left fielder Benny Agbayani, while Amick plays both third base and first base.

Minter’s departure marks the first move in what is anticipated to be a flurry of transactions for the Mets as the trade deadline approaches. The team currently has three key relief pitchers—Minter, left-hander Brooks Raley, and right-hander Huascar Brazobán—whose contracts expire at the end of the season. Both Raley and Brazobán are expected to be traded before Monday’s deadline as the Mets look to reshape their roster.

Additionally, right-hander Luke Weaver, who spent much of the season as the Mets’ setup man and held an impressive streak of nearly three months without allowing an earned run, is also likely to be moved despite having another year remaining on his contract. Weaver is projected to command significant prospects in return due to his strong performance.

Despite these potential departures, closer Devin Williams is not anticipated to be traded, as he has two years left on his contract following this season.

This strategic repositioning comes as the Mets aim to leverage their bullpen strength this season to acquire top prospects and build for the future.
