Michael Hollick secured his first DP World Tour title at the BMW International Open on Sunday, finishing one stroke ahead of fellow South African Hennie du Plessis. The tournament concluded at Golfclub München Eichenried, where Hollick's final round showcased resilience and clutch putting under pressure.

Entering the closing holes, Hollick trailed du Plessis by three shots following a bogey on the 16th hole. However, du Plessis faltered with a bogey on the 17th, while Hollick responded with a birdie on the 17th. On the final hole, Hollick sealed his victory with an eagle, sinking a 20-foot putt to finish the tournament at 18 under par. Du Plessis managed only a par on the last hole, leaving him one stroke behind.

The 39-year-old Hollick maintained composure throughout the day, adhering to a consistent approach he described as key to his success. His performance marked a significant milestone in his career, securing the coveted DP World Tour title for the first time.

Hollick's victory at the BMW International Open adds to the growing list of DP World Tour champions and highlights the competitive spirit among South African golfers on the international stage.
