Tottenham Hotspur’s young forward Mikey Moore has agreed to join Bundesliga side Cologne on a season-long loan, although the move has not yet received final approval from Tottenham. The 18-year-old attacker, who made a strong impression during a loan spell at Rangers last season, has been given opportunities to showcase his talent during Tottenham’s pre-season under manager Roberto De Zerbi.

Despite some notable performances this summer, both Moore and Tottenham have reportedly concluded that another loan spell would best serve his development. While interest came from clubs including Middlesbrough and a possible return to Rangers, the opportunity to compete in one of Europe's top five leagues proved particularly appealing.

Moore had also attracted attention from Borussia Dortmund; however, Tottenham reportedly declined to allow the inclusion of an option or obligation for a permanent transfer in any potential loan deal with the German club. As a result, a straightforward loan to Cologne is anticipated to be finalized shortly.

If the arrangement proceeds as expected, Moore will join former England Under-17 teammate Reigan Heskey at the German club. Tottenham’s decision to await formal approval before permitting Moore to travel to Germany suggests that final administrative or contractual details are still being resolved.

The loan move aligns with a broader trend of Premier League clubs sending young prospects abroad to gain experience in competitive European leagues. Tottenham’s cautious approach to the permission process also indicates their desire to retain long-term control over Moore’s future.

As of now, Moore remains with Tottenham, with the expectation that the loan deal will be completed within the coming days, allowing him to begin the forthcoming season with Cologne.
