Milipol Qatar 2026, the 16th edition of the international exhibition focused on homeland security and safety, is set to open on Tuesday at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre. The three-day event, organised by Qatar’s Ministry of Interior and held under the patronage of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, will run until October 22. It is expected to bring together over 270 local and international companies, including seven international pavilions, to showcase the latest technologies and solutions in the security sector.

Major General Nasser bin Fahad al-Thani, chairman of the Milipol Qatar Committee, highlighted at a press conference that preparations for the event have been completed and emphasised the strong participation despite ongoing regional challenges. He noted that many companies faced logistical difficulties in transporting equipment and arranging their presence due to geopolitical tensions in the region. Nonetheless, the increased number of exhibitors compared to the previous edition reflects the event’s significance as a vital platform for the security industry.

The exhibition covers a 23,000-square-metre area and will feature an outdoor display showcasing the Ministry of Interior’s vehicle fleet, highlighting operational capabilities used in public safety and security. The event aims to facilitate the exchange of expertise among security officials, industry specialists, and technology providers while fostering international cooperation.

The program will coincide with the Doha International Conference on AI and Security, which will address the growing role of artificial intelligence in enhancing security operations, as well as the evolving threats linked to cyberattacks. Major General al-Thani underscored the importance of continuous monitoring of the cyber domain and preparedness against emerging risks such as hacking and other cyber threats.

International delegations, including representatives from interior ministries, police forces, and Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, have been invited to attend. Their participation is expected to create opportunities for dialogue and collaboration among government officials and industry leaders.

Karen Galstyan, director of the Milipol Network, noted the longstanding partnership between Milipol Qatar and the Ministry of Interior, which has been sustained since the event’s inception in 1996. The exhibition remains a key gathering for stakeholders in homeland security and safety, showcasing cutting-edge innovations aimed at enhancing the protection of people and infrastructure in a rapidly changing global security landscape.
