Authorities in Nashik conducted a large-scale demolition operation early Wednesday morning targeting properties linked to Matin Patel, a councillor from the All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (AIMIM) in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. The municipal corporation dismantled two houses and an office owned by Patel, citing unauthorized construction and illegal property usage.

The demolition team, operating under heavy police protection, carried out the action after a thorough investigation confirmed the structures were unauthorized. Despite the scale of the operation, Patel and his family did not resist. In a notable display, they reportedly welcomed the municipal officials with garlands and held copies of the Indian Constitution during the proceedings.

Patel is a key accused in a controversial illegal religious conversion case that has drawn significant attention in the region. Alongside him, Nidakhan, a young woman identified as a prominent accused in the same case and reportedly sheltered at one of the demolished properties, was also taken into police custody. Both individuals have been arrested in connection with the ongoing investigation into unlawful religious conversions in Nashik.

The municipal corporation's action demonstrates an intensified effort by local authorities to address allegations of illegal construction linked to the case. Law enforcement and civic agencies continue to work in tandem as the investigation progresses.
