Kuwait’s Minister of Education, Jalal Al-Tabtabaei, highlighted the multifaceted role of teachers on World Teachers’ Day, emphasizing their contributions beyond traditional knowledge transmission to include personal development, value shaping, and future leadership preparation. Speaking on Monday, Al-Tabtabaei underscored the irreplaceable human element teachers bring, despite rapid advancements in artificial intelligence and technological resources.
Al-Tabtabaei praised educators for their ability to recognize individual student talents, guide critical thinking, boost self-confidence, and foster a sense of responsibility and national belonging. He described World Teachers’ Day not only as a celebration but as a moment to express loyalty and gratitude toward teachers who treat their mission with dedication and view student success as an extension of their own professional purpose.
The minister stressed that a teacher’s influence extends far beyond the classroom walls, impacting students’ lives and their future contributions to the country. Reflecting this belief, the Ministry of Education places empowerment and continuous professional development of teachers at the core of its educational reform agenda, considering educators vital partners in national progress and change.
Al-Tabtabaei called on teachers throughout Kuwait to maintain their commitment and dedication by drawing motivation from their love for the country and a strong sense of civic duty. He also acknowledged the ongoing support the education sector receives from Kuwait’s political leadership, including directives from His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.
Expressing gratitude to the nation’s teachers, Al-Tabtabaei thanked them for their positive impact on children, their role in fostering ambition, and their contribution to preparing future generations to shoulder national responsibilities. He affirmed that teachers’ efforts form a cornerstone of Kuwait’s progress and extend into its future development.
In parallel with the minister’s remarks, schools across Kuwait observed World Teachers’ Day with a variety of events including ceremonies honoring educators, cultural and educational competitions, and student performances designed to express appreciation for teachers’ dedication.
