The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) has completed interviews for the second cohort of the Qatari Trainers Localisation Initiative, a programme aimed at nationalising private educational and training service centres across Qatar. The interviews were held from August 16 to 20, attracting strong participation from applicants, signaling increased interest in professional opportunities within the private education and training sector.

Following the success of the inaugural cohort, MoEHE opened applications through its official website, receiving a total of 322 submissions from Qatari trainers and children of Qatari women. After an initial review based on established criteria, 268 candidates were shortlisted for interviews, comprising 253 Qatari trainers and 15 children of Qatari women. The selection process focused on evaluating candidates’ readiness, professional competence, and suitability for roles as private training specialists.

The interview panels consisted of experts from the Ministry of Education and Higher Education alongside representatives from several institutions, including Qatar Chamber, the Centre for Community Service and Continuing Education at Qatar University, the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies, Al Jazeera Media Institute, and Teach for Qatar. The Ministry emphasised that the involvement of these bodies highlights the value of institutional partnerships in fostering national competencies and aligning training opportunities with labour market demands.

The Qatari Trainers Localisation Initiative seeks to attract and develop the skills of Qatari trainers and children of Qatari women, enhancing their practical capabilities and professional expertise. The programme also aims to improve the quality of educational and training services offered by the private sector, support the sector’s nationalisation, and expand career pathways for Qatari professionals in a field marked by growing demand.
