Qatar’s Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) has introduced Liwan Nursery Magazine, a new publication aimed at supporting and advancing the early childhood education sector. The inaugural issue was launched on June 15 in a ceremony attended by prominent education officials, including HE the Undersecretary Dr Ibrahim bin Saleh al-Nuaimi and Assistant Undersecretary for Special Education Affairs Omar Abdul Aziz al-Naama, alongside nursery directors, managers, license holders, and other early childhood specialists.

The magazine is designed to improve pedagogical quality within private nurseries by documenting exemplary practices and sharing successful experiences across the sector. According to the ministry, Liwan Nursery Magazine exemplifies its ongoing commitment to enhancing early childhood education systems and the quality of services provided to young children. It serves as a media and awareness platform that highlights best practices, inspires professionals, and fosters the exchange of expertise among those working in early education.

The publication is intended to regularly capture and project the educational and developmental contributions of nurseries in Qatar, emphasizing their role beyond basic childcare. Assistant Undersecretary Omar Abdul Aziz al-Naama emphasized that nurseries function as comprehensive educational environments that contribute to character building and instilling national values and Qatari identity from a young age. He further noted that the magazine will be issued on a monthly basis.

Ghada Sultan Laram, director of the Ministry’s Nurseries Department, described the launch as a significant step toward strengthening the early childhood sector. She emphasized that the magazine’s purpose extends beyond documentation to fostering partnerships between nurseries, families, and the wider community. Laram highlighted the department’s intention to cultivate a culture of continuous development through knowledge sharing and success documentation, which are expected to enhance performance and service quality across nurseries.

The introduction of Liwan Nursery Magazine reflects MoEHE’s broader efforts to support early education providers and ensure that private nurseries contribute effectively to the educational and developmental needs of children in Qatar.
