KUWAIT CITY — The Undersecretary of Kuwait’s Ministry of Health, Sheikh Dr. Salman Khalifa Al-Sabah, issued a new circular on July 21 aimed at improving procedural clarity and operational efficiency within healthcare facilities across the country.

The directive clarifies the roles and responsibilities of healthcare facility administrations and public relations departments, tasking them with promptly managing inquiries from patients and their families according to established procedures. The Ministry emphasized that these departments must ensure timely and effective communication to enhance patient service experiences.

In addition, the circular calls for the implementation of organizational measures designed to streamline workflow and cultivate a more efficient working environment. It also addresses potential operational challenges by urging healthcare institutions to establish mechanisms that support smooth day-to-day functions.

A key aspect of the circular is the delineation of interactions between healthcare staff and patients. Medical personnel are instructed to confine their communications with patients strictly to clinical, medical, and technical matters related to their professional roles. This move seeks to reinforce a clear separation between medical and administrative duties, helping to safeguard patients’ dignity and protect the professional integrity of healthcare workers.

The Ministry of Health described the circular as part of broader efforts to enhance the overall quality of healthcare services in Kuwait. By defining responsibilities more explicitly, the Ministry aims to foster a more organized, respectful, and efficient healthcare environment for both patients and practitioners.
