The Ministry of Interior’s Penal and Correctional Institutions Department marked a milestone by celebrating the graduation of the first group of inmates who earned a Diploma in Business Administration from the Community College of Qatar. This achievement highlights the ministry’s commitment to enhancing rehabilitation and reform programs within correctional and rehabilitation facilities.
The graduation ceremony, held recently, brought together high-ranking state officials, ministry representatives, and members of the Permanent Committee for Penal and Correctional Institutions. The event underscored the collaborative efforts between the Penal and Correctional Institutions Department and the Community College of Qatar to provide inmates with access to higher education.
By offering academic programs such as the Business Administration diploma, the MoI aims to support the professional development of inmates, thereby improving their prospects for successful reintegration into society upon release. The initiative is part of broader strategies to reinforce educational opportunities within the correctional system and promote positive behavioral change among detainees.
Officials emphasized that the diploma graduation not only reflects individual achievements but also represents the ongoing dedication to transforming rehabilitation services through education. These efforts align with the ministry’s objective to foster a supportive environment that equips inmates with skills and qualifications beneficial for their future.
