The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) in Qatar has initiated a nationwide campaign to raise awareness about heat stress, aiming to reduce work-related injuries and occupational illnesses linked to high temperatures. The campaign, launched in early June 2026, focuses on educating both workers and employers about recognizing symptoms of heat stress and implementing effective preventive measures.

As part of the initiative, the MoPH has developed educational materials in multiple languages, which will be distributed across workplaces and shared through social media channels and the ministry’s official website. This effort is designed to reach a broad audience, with particular attention to the large segment of outdoor workers vulnerable to heat-related health risks.

To further promote awareness, the ministry is conducting lectures that address the prevention of heat stress and clarify the responsibilities of workers and employers in maintaining safe work conditions during periods of elevated temperatures. These sessions emphasize adopting healthy behaviors and preventative practices to safeguard employees’ well-being.

In partnership with the Ministry of Labour, the MoPH is organizing specialized training workshops. These workshops cover a range of topics including recognizing heat stress symptoms, implementing preventive strategies, and emergency response protocols. Additional health guidelines focus on protecting ocular health from sunlight exposure, highlighting the importance of wearing protective equipment such as safety glasses during outdoor labor.

The campaign aligns with Qatar’s broader commitment to ensuring safe and healthy working environments, particularly as the country contends with rising temperatures during the summer months. Through educational outreach and collaboration with workplace safety officers, the ministries aim to minimize heat-related incidents and enhance occupational health standards across all industries.
