The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has reported that its career counselling programme has benefited more than 60,000 UAE citizens and over 3,000 private sector companies since its inception. The initiative is designed to support Emiratis in securing private sector employment opportunities that align with their qualifications, while also enhancing their career development and job stability.

The programme provides career planning assistance and skills development tailored to the evolving demands of the UAE labour market. It aims to improve participants’ job search capabilities, interview techniques, and helps them identify suitable career paths. In addition to supporting individual job seekers and employees, the programme offers services to private companies to help them attract and retain Emirati talent by establishing motivating work environments conducive to growth, professional advancement, and increased productivity.

Farida Al Ali, Assistant Undersecretary of National Talents at MoHRE, described the counselling programme as an integral part of the Ministry’s broader strategy to support UAE nationals throughout various career stages and boost their participation in the workforce. She emphasized that the programme aligns with national objectives to build a competitive workforce capable of contributing effectively to sustainable economic growth and fulfilling the UAE Strategy for Talent Attraction and Retention.

Al Ali highlighted the benefits to companies, noting that the programme aids in creating suitable work environments that reduce employee turnover and utilize aptitude assessments to better match talent with roles. These services are accessible through the programme’s dedicated online platform.

MoHRE intends to continue offering career counselling services to Emirati job seekers, current private sector employees, and participating businesses. The Ministry is working to ensure the programme remains responsive to rapid changes in the labour market in order to sustain its positive impact on both professionals and employers.

The services provided include individualized and group career counselling sessions aimed at developing personal and professional skills, delineating career paths, improving job retention, and enhancing competencies. Further support focuses on workplace integration, time and stress management, and other areas intended to increase professional readiness and long-term success within the private sector.

The initiative reflects the government’s ongoing commitment to advancing Emiratisation goals by positioning the private sector as a key partner in employing and training national talent.
