Malaysian golfer Mirabel Ting continued to make waves on the Epson Tour with her second straight victory, securing her position as the only two-time winner in the circuit this year. The 20-year-old from Miri claimed the Dream First Bank Charity Classic title in Garden City, Kansas, finishing at 14-under par 202 after a final round of six-under 66. She led the tournament from the outset, carding opening rounds of 66 and 70 to finish three strokes ahead of her closest competitors.

Ting’s triumph follows her maiden Epson Tour victory in Tennessee last month and marks a standout rookie season characterized by consistent high-level play. She has posted ten top-10 finishes so far and currently holds the top spot in the Race for the Card standings, with only three events remaining in the season. The top 15 players in these rankings will earn full membership status for the 2027 LPGA Tour.

In a recent interview, Ting reflected on the factors contributing to her back-to-back wins and the challenges of managing pressure. She credited a focus on playing her best rather than fixating on winning, as well as improvements in putting compared to her previous event. Though ball striking has been a strength throughout the year, she said her putting has seen notable progress recently.

Ting highlighted the role of her support team, particularly working with fellow Malaysian golfer Michelle Koh, who helped her keep expectations in check and maintain focus on her routine rather than results. Together, they concentrated on wedge play and putting, emphasizing distance control and putting rolls to fine-tune her short game. Additionally, guidance from her coach Kris encouraged patience, especially under difficult weather conditions that included gusts up to 45 km/h during the tournament’s early rounds.

Despite her successes, Ting acknowledged areas for further development, particularly in her mental game and putting under pressure. She described her approach to growing expectations and attention back home as maintaining low external pressures, focusing instead on process and continuous learning. For Ting, challenges serve as opportunities to build resilience and improve rather than create burdens.

As the Epson Tour season enters its final stages, Ting’s combination of skill, composure, and steady improvement positions her as a leading contender to transition to the LPGA Tour next year.
