After a 10-day search at Dubai International Airport, Avishka Kaumadi’s missing cat, Chuutti, has been located, bringing relief to the owner who had been anxiously awaiting news since the pet’s disappearance. Kaumadi announced the discovery in an emotional post on Facebook, expressing deep gratitude to SriLankan Airlines, dnata, and airport authorities for their efforts in recovering her cat.

Chuutti went missing on the night of October 11, when Kaumadi was preparing to fly from Dubai to Sri Lanka. Having completed all necessary documentation and payment procedures for transporting Chuutti as air cargo, Kaumadi was informed shortly after passing through immigration that the cat had escaped from its carrier. Despite an extensive search that lasted over an hour in the cargo area, hindered by darkness and low lighting, Chuutti was not immediately found.

Kaumadi remained at the airport for approximately 28 hours hoping for positive developments but was eventually advised to return to Sri Lanka while the search for her cat continued. The Dubai Airport Management Team recorded her contact details and assured her that arrangements could be made to transport Chuutti to Sri Lanka once found, even if the process required several weeks.

In her Facebook message, Kaumadi described the emotional toll of the experience, emphasizing the bond she shares with Chuutti, whom she referred to as her "beloved child" and a "piece of her heart." She also thanked the individuals who supported her throughout the ordeal by sharing appeals, making phone calls, and offering prayers.

Though Chuutti has now been located, Kaumadi is still awaiting the safe transportation of her cat back to Sri Lanka, hopeful for a reunion soon. She expressed that knowing her pet has been found has given her renewed hope and strength during an otherwise painful time. The cooperation of the airline, ground staff, and airport officials was central to the search, demonstrating a coordinated effort to resolve the distressing situation.
