The Los Angeles Dodgers announced their roster for the National League Division Series (NLDS), featuring rookie Josue De Paula as a pinch-hitter after a brief stint in Triple-A and recent intrasquad scrimmages. Utility player Hyeseong Kim was also included for his flexibility across positions and speed on the bases.
For the NLDS, the Dodgers opted to carry 14 position players and 12 pitchers. Their bullpen composition reflects a strategic balance, with five right-handed and three left-handed pitchers, designed to maximize matchup opportunities in the shortened best-of-five format. Andrew Friedman, Dodgers president of baseball operations, described this pitching staff as the best and deepest the team has had entering October. He acknowledged the difficulty of trimming the roster, noting that some talented pitchers were left off as a result.
The San Diego Padres have retained pitcher Joe Musgrove on their NLDS roster while placing starter Walker Buehler on the postseason paternity list. Randy Vásquez has been temporarily added to fill Buehler’s spot on the roster.
In the National League, the Milwaukee Brewers announced a 13-pitcher roster for their playoff games. They included Kyle Harrison despite his struggles towards the end of the regular season. Meanwhile, Brandon Woodruff, sidelined with a shoulder injury, remains optimistic about a possible return later in the postseason and has expressed hope to contribute if the Brewers advance to the World Series.
