The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) convened a workshop on Monday focused on job description and classification guidelines for Qatar’s diplomatic and consular corps. The event, organized by the ministry’s Human Resources Department, brought together senior officials including Secretary-General HE Dr. Ahmed bin Hassan Al Hammadi, department directors, assistant directors, and heads of Qatar’s diplomatic missions worldwide.
During the workshop, HE Abdulaziz bin Abdul Qader Mohammed Al Ahmad, Director of the Human Resources Department, presented the key provisions of the newly developed guide. He provided an overview of its contents, which detail the responsibilities and classifications of foreign service personnel and locally employed staff members assigned to Qatar’s diplomatic posts abroad.
The session also covered the framework governing staff assignments, the procedures for performance evaluations, and the criteria and timelines for promotion eligibility within the diplomatic corps. The workshop aimed to enhance understanding and consistency in human resource practices across Qatar’s diplomatic missions, supporting the ministry’s efforts to strengthen its overseas representation and operational effectiveness.
