Mohamed Salah has completed his transfer to Turkish Super Lig club Trabzonspor, signing a contract that extends until 2028. The 34-year-old forward, previously with Liverpool, joined Trabzonspor as a free agent after mutually agreeing to terminate his contract at Anfield one year early.
Salah will don the No. 10 jersey for his new team, the same number he wears for the Egypt national team. He is expected to make his competitive debut for Trabzonspor in the Super Lig season opener against Kasimpasa on August 15. Trabzonspor finished third in the league last season, and the club is looking to bolster its squad with Salah’s arrival.
The financial terms of Salah’s contract reportedly total £14.5 million per year, which includes an £8.5 million annual salary along with a signing-on bonus. Additionally, Salah is set to receive 20 percent of the revenue generated from merchandise bearing his name.
Following his signing, Salah participated in his first training session with his new teammates and was officially presented to fans at Trabzonspor’s home ground, Papara Park. Speaking at the unveiling, Salah expressed enthusiasm about joining the club, stating, “I’m here to win. The last couple of days have been an experience I have never had in my life, the fans have shown me so much love.”
The transfer marks a significant move for the World Cup star, who had been a key player for Liverpool since joining the English club. His departure was confirmed as a mutual decision, enabling him to pursue new challenges in the Turkish league.
