His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, led funeral prayers for the late Sheikh Ahmed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum at Zabeel Grand Mosque in Dubai. The ceremony took place yesterday and was attended by senior members of Dubai's ruling family, government officials, and other dignitaries.
Among those participating in the prayers alongside Sheikh Mohammed were Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai; Sheikh Maktoum Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Finance; Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior; Sheikh Ahmed Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council; Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group; and Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence.
The funeral attracted numerous sheikhs, senior officials, dignitaries, and citizens who gathered to pay their respects. Condolences are being received at Zabeel Majlis for three days following the funeral prayers, starting from the day of the ceremony.
