The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoHE) recently convened its fourth Educational Guidance Forum for 2026 to review the accomplishments of the Educational Guidance Department for the 2025-2026 academic year. The event focused on evaluating the department’s performance against its operational plan, identifying areas for improvement, and showcasing effective educational practices designed to enhance student learning and overall educational quality.

In his address, Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Affairs Ibrahim Abdullah al-Muhannadi highlighted the critical role of educational supervisors in advancing education quality. He stressed the importance of further developing supervisory functions to provide educators with stronger support in managing classroom challenges and promoting instructional methods that have a measurable impact on student achievement. Al-Muhannadi emphasized that education quality extends beyond curriculum completion and academic results to include fostering students’ critical thinking, comprehension, and practical skills.

Al-Muhannadi also noted the necessity of addressing obstacles faced by teachers and advocated for a collaborative, motivating professional environment. He underscored the need for close cooperation among supervisors, teachers, and school leadership to leverage educational expertise effectively and create a sustained positive influence on student outcomes. His remarks included interactive elements where educational supervisors engaged with real-world teaching scenarios, exchanging insights on improving instructional supervision and pedagogical practices.

Acting Director of the Educational Guidance Department Fatima Ahmed al-Rashid outlined several initiatives aimed at modernizing the department’s supervisory system. The department is employing the PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Act) methodology to support continuous improvement in supervisory effectiveness, enhance professional support to teachers, and assess the impact of educational guidance on teaching quality and learning results.

Looking ahead to the 2026-2027 academic year, al-Rashid identified key priorities such as improving the mentoring skills of educational supervisors and expanding their capacity to provide effective professional assistance in schools. The department plans to introduce innovative initiatives to raise educational standards and boost student performance. One strategic effort includes designating high-performing schools as centers of expertise to disseminate best practices across the school network.

Additionally, the department aims to tailor support to schools through data-driven interventions targeting specific developmental needs. Efforts will also focus on empowering subject coordinators to serve as resident supervisors, fostering sustained professional guidance and enhanced teaching methodologies at the school level.

These initiatives are aligned with Qatar’s Third National Development Strategy for 2024-2030, which prioritizes the advancement of a high-quality education system, human capital development, and equipping future generations with the skills necessary to contribute effectively to the country’s national development goals.
