Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior announced the arrest of eight individuals in connection with drug-related offenses as part of an ongoing campaign targeting narcotics trafficking and abuse. The arrests, made across seven separate cases, were carried out by the Criminal Security Sector, with support from other agencies including the General Administration for Drug Control and the General Administration of Customs.

The operations led to the seizure of a range of illicit substances, including Captagon tablets, Lyrica capsules, methamphetamine (locally referred to as shabu), and hashish oil prepared for distribution. Authorities also confiscated various forms of a synthetic drug known as “Chemical,” which appeared in liquid form as well as on papers soaked with the substance. Cash believed to be connected with drug trafficking and related paraphernalia were also seized during the raids.

One notable operation involved intercepting an air freight shipment containing narcotic-laced papers carrying the substance known as A4. Security forces apprehended the intended recipient of the shipment following a coordinated effort between drug control and customs officials. A subsequent search of the suspect’s residence uncovered additional quantities of the liquid narcotic chemical.

The Ministry of Interior emphasized that all suspects and seized materials have been handed over to the appropriate authorities to proceed with legal actions. These recent arrests follow a national crackdown on illicit pharmaceuticals and narcotics designed to curb drug trafficking routes and reduce drug abuse within Kuwait. The ministry continues to pursue comprehensive measures as part of its broader security strategy.
