A delegation from Qatar’s Ministry of Interior (MoI) visited the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen cooperation and exchange expertise in passport and residency services. The delegation was led by Brigadier Mohammed Ali al-Mohannadi, Director of the Unified Services Department at Qatar’s General Directorate of Passports.
During the visit, the delegation met with officials from the UAE’s Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security in Abu Dhabi, as well as the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai. The discussions focused on reviewing best practices and enhancing the development of passport and residency service operations.
The visit underscores a broader trend of increased collaboration between Gulf countries in areas related to border management, security, and citizen services. Both Qatar and the UAE have prioritized modernizing their identity and residency frameworks, and this exchange of expertise aims to support those objectives.
