The Ministry of Interior (MoI) has been awarded first place for its achievements in joint field intelligence cooperation in combating drug trafficking, announced during the 40th Arab Conference of the Heads of Anti-Narcotics Agencies held in Tunis. The event was organised under the auspices of the Arab Interior Ministers Council (AIMC) and brought together Arab and international experts to discuss drug control strategies and share experiences among member states.
Representing the ministry at the conference was a delegation led by Brigadier Staff Rashid Saree al-Kaabi, Director General of Drug Enforcement. The award recognises the MoI’s efforts to enhance coordination, collaboration, and information exchange with equivalent agencies across the region. These initiatives aim to bolster Arab security measures targeting the trafficking of drugs and psychotropic substances, as well as to safeguard communities from their associated harms.
The conference serves as a platform for authorities to evaluate current challenges, review national policies, and develop joint frameworks to address evolving drug-related threats. The recognition of the MoI underscores the importance of regional cooperation in tackling drug trafficking and highlights the ministry’s role in advancing collective anti-narcotics operations.
