Model Mona Tougaard stars in the latest campaign film for Italian luxury brand Tod’s, reinforcing her ongoing collaboration with the house. The 32-second “Italian Stories” film was shot at a villa characterized by a pale yellow facade, green shutters, and a lawn featuring a curved pool. The visual presentation alternates between color and black-and-white footage, opening with the Tod’s logo and concluding with four figures walking away beneath trees.
Tougaard, who is of Danish, Turkish, Somali, and Ethiopian heritage, appears prominently early in the film. She is seen wearing a distinctive camel cotton trench coat composed of two layers: a short, wide-shouldered cape buttoned over a longer belted coat tied at the waist. This outerwear is paired with a cream shirt, chocolate brown leather trousers, knee-high brown boots, and a black leather tote accented with burnished tobacco trim, a gold buckle strap, and Tod’s name in gold block letters. A subsequent scene features her indoors wearing a mustard knit sweater layered over a pale blue shirt with a rounded collar, her hair styled loosely. The trench coat reappears in a black-and-white sequence of her walking past the villa.
Alongside Tougaard, the campaign highlights three additional models, including two men who present pieces from Tod’s menswear collection. Featured items encompass brown suede lace-up shoes, suede sneakers, and black leather loafers, each detailed with the brand’s signature rubber pebble soles. Accessories are also emphasized in close-ups, showcasing gold-framed aviator sunglasses and the tan grained-leather Di Bag, displayed on a red table next to a collie.
“I Italian Stories,” a recurring campaign platform for Tod’s, centers on elements of Italian family life and countryside ambiance. The brand’s creative direction is under Matteo Tamburini.
Tougaard’s modeling career began after she was discovered at age 12 and subsequently won Elite Model Look Denmark at 15. She debuted as a Prada exclusive in 2019 and has since walked for houses such as Dior, Versace, Saint Laurent, Schiaparelli, Mugler, and Alberta Ferretti. In 2024, she was nominated for Model of the Year at the Fashion Awards and has graced the covers of British Vogue and Vogue Italia. This latest campaign marks her return to Tod’s, having previously fronted the brand’s pre-fall collection. Tougaard also appeared in Chanel’s renewed Coco Crush jewelry campaign, shot at Hollywood’s Chateau Marmont.
