More than 373,000 homes and businesses across the United States remained without power as of July 6 due to severe weather conditions affecting multiple states, according to data from PowerOutage.us.

Pennsylvania was the most severely impacted state, reporting over 70,000 power outages. FirstEnergy was the utility with the highest number of affected customers, with approximately 59,775 homes and businesses without electricity. Another large utility, DTE Energy, reported around 55,850 customers without power.

Michigan ranked second in outages, with about 64,155 customers impacted. In Pennsylvania, PPL Electric Utilities reported roughly 51,012 customers, or about 2.6% of its service area, without electricity.

DTE Energy indicated on its website that its Storm Response Team was on pace to restore power to 95% of affected customers by the end of July 6. By 5:29 p.m. local time, the utility said it had already restored service to 97.5% of its customers.

FirstEnergy also reported progress in restoration efforts. Its Jersey Central Power & Light unit successfully restored power to over 300,000 customers following the storms and expected to resolve the remaining 40,000 outages by July 7.

Utility companies continue to work to restore service as quickly and safely as possible amid the ongoing impact of severe weather in the region.
