Matrix Concepts Holdings Berhad has launched a structured three-year community initiative aimed at providing sustained food and hygiene assistance to vulnerable families experiencing financial hardship. The programme, known as the Matrix Foodbank Drive, is designed to extend beyond immediate relief by fostering long-term support that helps households manage essential needs such as healthcare and education more effectively.
Implemented in partnership with the Kechara Soup Kitchen (KSK), the initiative delivers food aid packages to beneficiary families on a bi-monthly basis in the Seremban area. This consistent distribution aims to create a reliable safety net for recipients while allowing Matrix to establish deeper community ties. The programme also involves collaboration with various non-governmental organisations (NGOs), government agencies, and business and community partners, each contributing their expertise and resources to expand outreach and impact.
During the first phase, six distributions provided a total of 278 food aid packages valued at RM88,544, increasing the number of beneficiary households from approximately 40 to 69. The initiative has engaged 585 volunteer instances, drawing support from partners such as Karisma Arena, Negeri Sembilan Basketball Association, Fo Guang Shan, Mawar Medical Centre, the Negri Sembilan Royal Malaysia Police, and Alpro Pharmacy.
Feedback from beneficiaries indicated that 100% experienced improved food security, while 91% reported that the assistance enabled them to allocate household income toward other pressing needs. These results highlight the importance of consistent support combined with collaboration among trusted community organisations.
The programme also encourages volunteerism among Matrix employees, who contribute both financially and through direct involvement in packing, preparing, and delivering aid. This hands-on participation is intended to strengthen the bond between the company and the communities it serves, turning corporate social responsibility into a collective effort.
In recognition of its community engagement, Matrix Concepts Holdings received the Relations with Local Communities award in the Large Companies category at The Star’s ESG Positive Impact Awards 2025. The accolade affirms the company's commitment to sustainability, collaboration, and meaningful community impact.
Building on this foundation, the initiative’s second phase has mobilised RM162,900 through Matrix’s employee-led “RM1 for RM4” fundraising campaign, where employee contributions are quadrupled by company matching funds. This phase maintains the same focus on regular assistance and expanding partnerships, working closely with NGOs such as KSK, government bodies, business entities, and volunteers to broaden support and strengthen community resilience in Seremban.
Matrix Concepts Holdings emphasises that enduring community impact requires ongoing collaboration and commitment rather than one-time interventions, underscoring its dedication to sustained social development through the Matrix Foodbank Drive.
