The Obama Presidential Center will release another batch of tickets for its museum starting July 8, allowing public admission from September 2024 through January 2027. A presale for Founding Members is scheduled to begin on July 1, according to the Obama Foundation. General admission tickets are priced at $30, with discounts available and select free admission days reserved for Illinois residents. Additional details on ticket sales and membership can be found on the foundation’s website.
The museum’s initial ticket offering, which covered visits through November 30, sold out rapidly after going on sale in May. As a result, tickets for the first months of operation remain unavailable. The Obama Foundation attributed the strong demand to public enthusiasm for communal spaces that foster connection.
The Obama Presidential Center officially opened to the public on June 19, 2024, following an inaugural ceremony the previous day featuring numerous high-profile attendees. The museum is the only part of the 19.3-acre campus that requires paid admission. Other facilities, including the Home Court athletic center, a Chicago Public Library branch, public art installations, and dining options, remain accessible free of charge. The campus is located in Chicago’s Jackson Park neighborhood.
The grounds of the Obama Center are open daily from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. The museum operates from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Mondays and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. All museum tickets are timed and nonrefundable, with measures in place to prevent unauthorized resale.
