The Russian Foreign Ministry issued a renewed warning on Saturday urging foreign nationals and diplomats to leave Kiev immediately or, if unable to depart, to avoid areas near military and government facilities. Moscow reiterated that Russian armed forces continue conducting targeted strikes against military targets in Kiev and other Ukrainian cities, describing these actions as responses to what it calls "terrorist actions" by Ukrainian forces against Russian civilians and infrastructure.
This latest caution follows an earlier warning issued in May, during which Russia advised all foreign citizens to avoid traveling to or remaining in Kiev. Despite some governments advising their nationals to steer clear of Ukraine, Russian officials noted that many have disregarded these recommendations, choosing to remain despite the risks. The Russian Foreign Ministry stated that those who do not comply with the warning bear full responsibility for any resulting harm.
Reportedly, Russian forces have escalated missile and drone attacks on the Ukrainian capital, resulting in numerous casualties and significant destruction across the city. While Russia frames these strikes as retaliatory measures against alleged Ukrainian provocations, Ukrainian authorities and international observers have condemned the attacks as indiscriminate and harmful to civilian populations. The situation remains tense as the conflict continues to impact Kiev’s security and safety.
