A recent survey of 2,000 adults in the United Kingdom reveals that a majority of Britons frequently delay routine household chores, particularly those perceived as tedious. According to the findings, 85 percent of respondents feel overwhelmed by everyday tasks, with over 40 percent admitting to postponing tasks such as cleaning the oven for extended periods.

The survey highlights common chores that are often neglected, including ironing clothes, clearing gutters, and unblocking hair-clogged drains. Instead of tackling these duties promptly, more than 80 percent of participants reported regularly putting them off, often opting to watch television or engage with digital devices instead.

British Gas, which commissioned the survey, emphasizes the importance of timely maintenance, particularly recommending that homeowners have their boilers serviced during the milder months rather than waiting for colder weather to arrive in November. The energy company argues that early servicing can prevent potential breakdowns during peak heating periods.
