Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (MSEDCL) has reported a landmark recovery in its Jalgaon zone for the financial year 2025–26, exceeding collection targets across various consumer categories. The zone recovered a total of ₹2,037.59 crore by March 31, surpassing its outstanding dues of ₹2,028.59 crore from Low Tension (LT) consumers, resulting in a collection rate of 100.44%, according to Chief Engineer IA Mulani.
The Jalgaon zone also posted strong results in the High Tension (HT) consumer segment, recovering ₹129.58 crore against a demand of ₹109.03 crore. This translated into a recovery rate of 111.50%, driven by persistent follow-ups with industrial and commercial consumers, enhanced billing accuracy, and improved interdepartmental coordination.
Focusing on the LT category outside the agricultural sector, the zone undertook special campaigns and public outreach programs aimed at boosting collections from domestic, commercial, and industrial consumers. These efforts yielded ₹207.48 crore in recoveries from outstanding dues of ₹175.21 crore, achieving a recovery rate of 118.41%.
In addition to the improved recoveries, consumers in the Jalgaon zone benefited from nearly ₹10 crore in rebates during the year by opting for digital payments and timely bill settlements. The total rebates amounted to ₹9.97 crore, comprising ₹6.05 crore for prompt payments, ₹1.51 crore for digital transactions, and ₹2.41 crore under the company’s ‘Go Green’ initiative.
Breakdowns of the rebates by circle show that Jalgaon consumers received ₹3.76 crore for prompt payments, ₹91 lakh for digital payments, and ₹1.44 crore under the green program. Dhule circle customers obtained ₹1.70 crore, ₹42 lakh, and ₹62 lakh respectively, while the Nandurbar circle saw rebates of ₹60 lakh, ₹18 lakh, and ₹35 lakh across the same categories.
Chief Engineer Mulani described the zone’s performance as indicative of strong financial discipline and operational efficiency, emphasizing the role of targeted collection strategies and customer engagement in achieving these results.
