Officials conducted an inspection on October 6 in Htitayam Village, Hsihseng Township, within the Pa-O Self-Administered Zone of southern Shan State, to assess the progress of the Mya Sein Yaung (MSY) Village Project. The initiative, overseen by the Department of Rural Development under the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development, seeks to alleviate poverty by creating employment opportunities and increasing household incomes among rural residents.

During the visit, Daw Thein Nwet Oo, Head of the Hsihseng Township Department of Rural Development, and her team reviewed agricultural activities in the village financed through the MSY program. The project has disbursed a total of 59.1 million kyats to support 80 local farmers. Officials also examined the accuracy and completeness of the monthly record-keeping forms required for project monitoring and coordinated steps to ensure proper documentation.

The MSY Village Project represents part of the government’s broader effort to promote sustainable rural development in the region by facilitating access to agricultural loans and fostering economic growth at the community level.
