Authorities in Louisiana are investigating a stabbing incident that left at least four people dead and a child critically injured Saturday night. The series of attacks occurred near the 200 block of Ashland Drive in Houma, a town located about 63 miles southwest of New Orleans.

The Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene after discovering multiple deceased victims in local residences. During their investigation, officers found an unidentified juvenile suffering from stab wounds, who was subsequently transported to a hospital and remains in critical condition.

Officials have identified Kaegan Jude Solet, 47, as a person of interest in the case. Solet, who has a documented history of violent offenses, including stabbing incidents, is currently being sought by law enforcement as part of an ongoing manhunt. Over the past decade, Solet has been arrested multiple times relating to stabbing attacks, one of which resulted in a fatality; however, none of these cases have led to a conviction.

Law enforcement records indicate that in January 2019, Solet faced charges for the murder of Kemple Paul Scott Lovell, a homeless man found dead in Houma with multiple stab wounds. Despite this, a grand jury declined to indict Solet due to insufficient evidence.

Authorities have not released further details regarding the motive behind the recent attacks or the current status of the investigation. Residents in the area have been advised to remain vigilant and report any information that could assist in locating the individual of interest.
