Mumbai University has announced the results for the Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) third-year examinations held during the Summer 2026 session, revealing that nearly half of the candidates did not pass. Out of 45,758 students who appeared for the exams, only 24,587 successfully cleared the papers, resulting in a pass percentage of approximately 53%.
A total of 47,553 students had originally registered for the exams, but a significant number—more than 8,000—had their results withheld due to issues related to the Academic Bank of Credits (ABCID). The university completed the evaluation process promptly and declared the results within 14 days. However, it was unable to release the results for some students because their ABCID details had not been properly prepared or submitted.
According to university officials, despite multiple instructions and meetings, some colleges failed to provide the required ABCID information on time, leading to delays for those affected. As a result, these students will need to await their official mark sheets even after the results have been published.
The university's swift announcement of the results aimed to facilitate smooth academic progression, though the hold on certain outcomes highlights ongoing administrative challenges in implementing the ABCID system.
