A murder investigation is underway following the death of a woman in her 90s in a house fire in Hardwicke, Gloucestershire. Emergency services responded to reports of a blaze at the residence shortly after 4 a.m. yesterday. Upon arrival, firefighters found the elderly woman unconscious inside the property. Despite the efforts of paramedics, including CPR, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

A woman in her 60s from Gloucester was arrested on suspicion of murder and arson with intent to endanger life and remained in police custody last night. Authorities confirmed that the two women were known to each other.
