A loud, thunderous boom was reported by residents in Nilai, Negri Sembilan in the early hours of Sunday, prompting curiosity and confusion about its origin. The sound, heard at approximately 2 a.m., startled local residents but did not cause any reported damage or disruption.

One resident, Zana Zin, said the noise awakened her briefly but did not lead to any unusual incidents at her home. She noted that she returned to sleep shortly after the sound subsided, suggesting that her residence might be located some distance from the source.

From nearby Seremban, another witness, Cahaya Diri, described the boom as unusually deep and distinct from typical thunder. She explained that the sound was heavier and more resonant than ordinary thunderclaps, likening it instead to the kind of blast heard near quarries.

Cahaya pointed out that rainfall only occurred well after the sound was heard, adding to the mystery since it ruled out a direct correlation with a thunderstorm. She suggested that residents in Nilai likely experienced the noise more intensely due to their closer proximity to where it originated.
