Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Cabinet Member and Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, honored leading health care professionals, specialists, and institutions across the United Arab Emirates at the sixth Annual Health Awards 2026. The ceremony took place at the Grand Hyatt Dubai and was attended by approximately 1,000 guests, including dignitaries and representatives from both the public and private health sectors.

This year’s awards encompassed more than 50 categories, recognizing achievements in areas such as clinical excellence, surgical innovation, public health, wellness leadership, health care education, research, and patient care. Among the honorees were 15 UAE nationals who received special recognition for their contributions to advancing the country’s health care system.

In his remarks, Sheikh Nahyan emphasized the importance of the awards in highlighting the commitment and expertise of individuals and institutions dedicated to enhancing health care in the UAE. He remarked that the awards reflect the national ambition to develop a health care system grounded in knowledge, innovation, compassion, and respect for human dignity, all centered on patient welfare.

Sheikh Nahyan also underscored the diversity within the UAE’s health care workforce, noting that professionals from many nationalities work collaboratively toward a shared goal of safeguarding public health. He described tolerance and coexistence as core principles actively practiced daily within the health sector, citing examples such as doctors treating patients with dignity and multicultural teams working together to support individuals from various backgrounds.

Highlighting the achievements of the 15 Emirati award recipients, Sheikh Nahyan praised their growing role in the demanding fields of medicine and health sciences. He encouraged young Emiratis to pursue careers in these areas, noting that their accomplishments uphold national values of service and responsibility. He also acknowledged the contributions of families, mentors, and institutions that have supported and trained these professionals.

The Annual Health Awards continue to serve as a platform for recognizing innovation and excellence across the UAE’s expanding health care landscape, reflecting the country’s ongoing efforts to foster a compassionate and inclusive medical environment.
