Sharjah has introduced Najm, an artificial intelligence tool designed to assist investors in navigating the local market by identifying suitable land deals, business opportunities, and sources of capital. The announcement was made by Mohamed Juma Al Musharrkh, CEO of the Sharjah FDI Office (Invest in Sharjah), during the ninth Sharjah Investment Forum, which was held under the theme “Building Adaptive Economies.”

Najm functions as an initial point of contact for investors by streamlining the search for investment opportunities. Users provide basic details about their intended business operations and preferences, such as requirements for land use and budget. The AI then analyzes these inputs and compiles a list of potential sites or deals that match the criteria. This approach consolidates what has traditionally been a fragmented, time-consuming process of checking multiple property platforms and listings individually.

The tool operates in two phases. The first integrates Invest in Sharjah’s foreign direct investment (FDI) data and insights, focusing on commercial and industrial land opportunities within the emirate. The second phase aims to expand its scope by offering investors access to live, verified investment options and opportunities for direct partnerships with various Sharjah entities, thereby providing more comprehensive and actionable information.

To support Najm’s development and functionality, Invest in Sharjah signed three memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with key partners: the Sharjah Department of Town Planning and Survey, Property Finder, and Bayut and Dubizzle. These agreements allow Najm to incorporate Sharjah’s industrial and commercial land listings into its database, enabling investors to efficiently identify and connect with relevant property offerings through integrated platforms.

During his opening remarks at the forum, Ahmed Obaid Al Qaseer, CEO of the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq), emphasized the importance of adopting a long-term perspective on investment in the emirate. He cited the transformation of Sharjah’s historical homes and markets into vibrant centers for hospitality, culture, and commerce as examples of sustainable development.

Additionally, Abdullah Bin Touq Al Marri, UAE Minister of Economy and Tourism, highlighted the growing role of artificial intelligence in daily life and the importance of societies adapting to technological advances. The launch of Najm aligns with broader economic efforts to harness technology to facilitate investment and foster adaptive, future-ready economies in the region.
