Natascha McElhone has reportedly entered a new relationship with fellow actor Assad Zaman, her co-star in the Sky series *Hotel Portofino*. The 56-year-old actress and the 36-year-old actor, who portrayed a doctor secretly in love with McElhone’s character’s son in the show, are said to be romantically involved after nearly two decades since McElhone’s late husband passed away.

According to sources close to the pair, McElhone is "head over heels" for Zaman, with the relationship described as serious. Representatives for both actors were contacted for comment but did not immediately respond.

McElhone’s late husband, Martin Kelly, was a plastic surgeon who died unexpectedly in 2008 due to an undiagnosed heart condition while McElhone was pregnant with their youngest child. The actress has three sons—Theo, Otis, and Rex—whom she raised largely on her own following Kelly’s death. In interviews, McElhone has reflected on the challenges of balancing her career with single parenthood, describing those years as "all consuming," though she expressed gratitude for the opportunity to devote herself to her children. In 2023, she remarked that with her sons now older, she felt more like "wallpaper" or "background noise," adding she was "glad to be irrelevant."

Zaman hails from Newcastle upon Tyne and is known for his role as Armand, a 500-year-old vampire, in the BBC Two series *The Vampire Lestat* (previously known as *Interview With The Vampire*). The character was famously played by Antonio Banderas in the 1994 film adaptation starring Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt.

McElhone’s extensive acting career includes notable roles opposite George Clooney in *Solaris* and Robert De Niro in *Ronin*. In 2023, she appeared as Penny Knatchbull, Countess Mountbatten of Burma, in the final season of Netflix’s *The Crown*. Around that time, she was also seen with actor Sule Rimi in London, although the nature of their relationship was never publicly confirmed.

Her film debut came at age 24 with *Surviving Picasso*, where she starred alongside Sir Anthony Hopkins. Other well-known projects include *The Truman Show* and the television series *Californication*. Tragically, it was during the filming of *Californication* that she learned of Martin Kelly’s sudden death at their home in Fulham, west London. McElhone wrote an obituary for Kelly describing herself as “the luckiest woman alive, even though he’s not here.” Two years later, she published *After You*, a collection of journal entries addressed to her late husband that explored her grief and experiences as a widow.
