Nathan Davies set a new Guinness World Record by consuming 15 fish fingers within 60 seconds. The 32-year-old achieved the feat during an appearance on the television program The 1% Club, hosted by comedian Lee Mack. Davies had committed to the challenge as part of his participation in the show.

The record attempt drew further attention from a reporter who sought to surpass Davies’ accomplishment for the Daily Star Sunday. The reporter, who recalled fish fingers as a childhood favorite, aimed to exceed the 16 fish fingers per minute standard initially thought to be the benchmark. However, the attempt proved significantly more difficult than anticipated.

The challenge’s rules prohibited the use of condiments or any liquids during the eating attempt, adding to the difficulty. The reporter was able to consume only eight fish fingers within the allotted minute, hindered by the dryness and pressure of the timed challenge.

Davies’ record underscores the specific conditions and stamina required for competitive eating efforts, especially under restrictive rules that limit ease of consumption. The achievement on The 1% Club marks a noteworthy moment in competitive eating related to this particular food item.
