The National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) has rolled out a series of enhancements to its digital banking services aimed at improving convenience, speed, and security for its customers. Announced on October 3 in Kuwait City, the upgrades include a fully digital credit card application process that eliminates the need for customers to visit a branch or submit paper documents.
The new service allows customers to apply for credit cards entirely through the bank’s mobile app. Users can complete the application form, upload supporting documents, undergo credit checks, review eligible card options, and sign electronically—all from their mobile devices. By digitizing the entire workflow, NBK has significantly shortened the approval timeline, positioning itself as a leader in fast credit card issuance within Kuwait.
In addition to the simplified credit card application, NBK introduced a Multi-Beneficiary Transfers feature in its mobile banking platform. This functionality enables customers to transfer funds to up to ten recipients in a single transaction, streamlining multiple payments into one efficient process. Customers select beneficiaries, specify amounts, authenticate the transaction, and complete the transfers through a few intuitive steps.
NBK also expanded its digital certificate offerings, allowing customers to request a broader range of official certificates and statements without visiting branches. These documents are delivered digitally with embedded QR codes and verified signatures, facilitating easy validation via an in-app QR scanner. Enhanced security protocols aligned with international standards support this service, ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of sensitive banking documents. Copies of digital certificates are also sent to customers’ registered email addresses for convenient record-keeping.
Mohammad Al-Dakhil, Vice President and Head of Digital Banking Channels at NBK, emphasized that these updates reflect the bank’s strategic focus on developing a customer-centric banking ecosystem. “By combining convenience, flexibility, security, and accessibility, NBK maintains its unwavering commitment to simplifying daily banking for customers and providing them with bigger control to manage their finances,” he said.
These latest digital enhancements underscore NBK’s ongoing investment in technological infrastructure and innovation, reinforcing its position in Kuwait’s digital banking landscape. Through continuous development of user-friendly solutions, the bank aims to meet evolving customer expectations while adhering to high standards of service, security, and reliability.
