Singapore’s annual National Day Awards for 2026 were announced, recognizing individuals and leaders across public service, military, arts, and community sectors for their outstanding contributions to the nation.
The highest honour, The Order of Temasek (With Distinction), was awarded to Chief Justice Sundares Menon and former Chairman of the Council of Presidential Advisers Eddie Teo Chan Seng. These awards acknowledge exceptional service and leadership at the national level.
Recipients of The Distinguished Service Order included Alan Chan Heng Loon, Chairman of the Board of the Land Transport Authority, and Dr Iskandar Jalil, a prominent artist, among others. The award honours individuals demonstrating distinguished public service and contribution. Other notable awardees in this category were Edmund Cheng Wai Wing, former Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore; Ustaz Mohamad Hasbi Bin Hassan, Co-Chairman of the Religious Rehabilitation Group; and Bob Tan Beng Hai, former Chairman of Sentosa Development Corporation.
The Meritorious Service Medal was presented to a diverse group of recipients, including Dr Beh Swan Gin, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Trade and Industry, and Professor Chee Yam Cheng, President of the Singapore Medical Council. The medal also recognised contributions from individuals such as Mr S Chandra Das, former Non-Resident High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, and Ms Anita Fam Siu Ping, former President of the National Council of Social Service. In the military category, the medal was awarded to Vice-Admiral Aaron Beng Yao Cheng, Chief of Defence Force of the Singapore Armed Forces.
Several individuals were honoured with the Public Service Star and Public Service Star (Bar) for significant community and public service across various constituencies and government agencies. These included grassroots leaders like Mr Ng Cheok Yew, Vice-Chairman of Serangoon CCC in Aljunied GRC, and Mr Khoo Hock Khim, Patron of Kampong Chai Chee CCC in East Coast GRC. Awards also extended to leaders from the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment, and the Ministry of Transport.
The Public Administration Medal (Gold) (Bar) was awarded to Ms Loh Wai Yin Jacqueline from the Prime Minister’s Office, recognizing her leadership role within the Monetary Authority of Singapore. Other recipients of the Public Administration Medal (Gold) included officials from the Attorney-General’s Chambers, Judiciary, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health, and various other ministries. The military equivalent of this award was given to Rear Admiral Sean Wet Jianwen, Chief of Navy, and Brigadier-General Chan Ching Hoa, Chief of Staff (Joint Staff), Singapore Armed Forces.

The National Day Awards ceremony, a longstanding tradition, reaffirms the nation’s commitment to honouring dedicated public servants and community leaders annually.
