National Racehorse Week is set to take place across England and Wales this August, offering horse racing enthusiasts a unique opportunity to engage with the sport beyond the usual race day experience. Now in its sixth year, the event will see more than 75 venues open their doors to the public, providing access to various horse racing facilities.

Among the participating locations, 29 racecourses—including Epsom, Kempton, Goodwood, and York—will offer discounted tickets to attendees. Visitors will have the chance to observe physiotherapy and swimming demonstrations, gaining insight into the care and training regimens that racehorses undergo. Additionally, there will be opportunities to visit studs and training yards, with up to 65,000 free places available for these tours.

The event also features appearances by notable industry figures, including trainers, grooms, veterinarians, and farriers, who will be on hand to discuss their roles in the sport. For residents of major cities such as London, Liverpool, and Portsmouth, pop-up events are planned as part of the week’s activities.

National Racehorse Week aims to deepen public understanding of horse racing by showcasing the dedication involved in preparing racehorses. Further information and event details can be found at nationalracehorseweek.uk.
