The Washington Nationals ended a four-game losing streak with a 3-2 extra-inning victory over the Baltimore Orioles on Sunday night. The Nationals secured the win in the 10th inning at Camden Yards when Daylen Lile delivered the go-ahead single with the bases loaded.

Washington’s starter Foster Griffin pitched seven strong innings, allowing only one unearned run while limiting Baltimore to three hits and two walks. Griffin struck out nine batters and maintained a streak of giving up no more than one run in each of his five starts this June. Despite his efforts, the Nationals remained tied late into the game.

The Orioles loaded the bases with two outs in the 10th, but Washington closer Justin Lawrence managed to escape the jam and record his first save since 2024. Lawrence allowed a single and a walk during the inning but induced a groundout from Samuel Basallo that ended the game, along with a subsequent defensive play at the plate for the second out.

Reliever Clayton Beeter earned the win by pitching a scoreless inning in relief. On offense, Luis Garcia Jr. stood out with four hits, including a home run. Jorbit Vivas added three hits for the Nationals, while Lile and Drew Millas each contributed two.

The victory marked a critical turnaround for Washington, halting their recent skid and improving their standing as they continue their road trip through Baltimore.
