Shenzhen’s Pingshan district has welcomed the opening of the Shenzhen Natural History Museum, a major addition to southern China’s cultural and scientific landscape. Covering an area of 105,300 square meters near Yanzi Lake, the museum marks the region’s first large-scale institution dedicated to natural history.

The new facility provides visitors with a comprehensive overview of the Earth’s and universe’s development, tracing 4.6 billion years of cosmic and terrestrial evolution. The museum’s exhibits are organized into eight thematic halls: Universe, Earth, Evolution, Dinosaurs, Humans, Biology, Ecology, and Homeland.

Visitors can explore a collection featuring more than 7,400 genuine specimens, offering an immersive experience that combines educational content with scientific research. The museum aims to foster public understanding of natural history through interactive displays and authentic artifacts.
