The National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) has launched a new corporate mentorship program called “NBK Grow” aimed at developing technical talent and preparing future leaders in technology and data within the organization. This initiative is part of NBK’s broader strategy to invest in human capital and strengthen its position in digital transformation and innovation.

The 18-month program targets high-performing employees identified for their technical potential, selecting participants based on competence, professional readiness, and growth capacity. It pairs these individuals with experienced mentors from NBK’s technology, data, and digital transformation divisions. Through this mentorship relationship, the program seeks to facilitate knowledge transfer, skill development, and career advancement.

Participants will engage in a series of introductory and developmental sessions before entering the mentorship phase, which includes periodic meetings and various development activities throughout the program’s duration. The structure emphasizes fostering strong professional relationships supported by guidance, practical training, and continuous support, including career advice and knowledge exchange opportunities. Additionally, an AI-powered digital tool has been introduced to assist participants by providing quick access to program-related information and enhancing their engagement throughout the mentorship journey.

Maryam Al-Nasrallah, AVP – Talent Management, Group Human Resources at NBK, highlighted that the program reflects the bank’s commitment to nurturing talent and accelerating digital transformation. She stated that empowering promising employees with proper support is crucial for institutional excellence and sustainable success. Al-Nasrallah also emphasized that “NBK Grow” aims to develop future technology leaders, promote collaboration across units, and reinforce a culture of mentorship as a foundation for continuous learning.

The program further intends to create a collaborative environment that facilitates knowledge sharing between generations of employees, promoting the transfer of expertise to keep pace with rapid changes in banking and technology. NBK views the initiative as a key step in building an integrated system to enhance workforce skills in alignment with ongoing digital advancements.

By implementing “NBK Grow,” the bank seeks to consolidate its readiness for the future of banking, maintain a leading role in the financial sector, and contribute to Kuwait’s position in innovation and knowledge-based development. The program also underscores NBK’s focus on developing national talent, particularly among young professionals with potential requiring targeted guidance and growth opportunities.
